The International University

The Lebanese International University (LIU), founded in 2000, is the largest and fastest growing private university in Lebanon. Presently, LIU has five schools: Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Pharmacy. The university is managed by a university council led by the president. With nine campuses spread across 9 major cities and geographical regions throughout Lebanon, LIU has become the leading university among the country’s forty-five private higher education institutions.

Submission of Papers

Researchers intending and interested in the 8th IACQA conference may submit all papers in Arabic, English or French. The maximum allotted pages for a research is 15 pages, including all visuals and graphics (diagrams, illustrations, table and list of references.) The cover page should include the title of the research, the name of author(s), the university or institution including the P.O. Box address, telephone and fax number, in addition to the e-mail address(es) of the author(s).

Welcome to the Ninth International Arab Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

The mission of the conference is exploring, as a global community for research and innovation in teaching and learning, creative solutions to challenges confronting higher education and addressing these challenges collaboratively through transformative dialogue, cutting-edge research, and sharing of innovative best practices. A major strength of the conference will be its diverse base of global perspectives that foster creative thinking, meaningful dialogue and engagement, and purposeful action.

Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama

Dr, Salama served as Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Egyptian Technology in two periods, during which he supported the development and expansion of higher education projects, as well as the promotion of science and technology sectors, and developed new fields such as biotechnology and future sciences. Society and keen to spread the scientific culture in society and promote the general understanding of science and its importance.

Dr. Hmaid Ben Aziza

Hmaid BEN AZIZA, Secretary General of UNIMED, obtained a PhD in Philosophy at the University Lyon III in June 1998.
He was President of the University of Tunis for two terms. In the same university he was Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Director of the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty.

Prof. Abdelrahim Ahmad Hunaiti

He earned his B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Jordan in 1975, his M.Sc. in Microbiology from California state University, Fresno, USA in 1979, and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Washington state University, Pullman USA in 1983. He worked as a scholar, teacher and administrator, with over three decades of academic and administrative experience and leadership in higher education.

Michael J. Rouse, BPharm(Hons), MPS, FFIP

Born in Zimbabwe, Mike Rouse worked in hospital and community pharmacy and was chief executive of Zimbabwe’s largest group of pharmacies before moving to the USA in 2001. He works at the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education where he is Assistant Executive Director, Professional Affairs, and Director, International Services.

Prof. Dr. Jamal Daoud Abu-Doleh

Dr. Jamal is currently a professor of HRM at the Business Administration Dept. at Yarmouk University in Jordan. He obtained his Ph.D. in Business Administration/specialized in Human Resource Management from the University of Bradford Management Center, U.K in 1996. He holds an MBA degree from Saint Louis University, USA, in 1991.

Prof. Selim Mekdessi

Selim Mekdessi is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Lebanese University. He earned an accreditation to supervise research (HDR) in Business Sciences after a PhD in Business Sciences (Finance and Innovation) from Jean Moulin University (Lyon III) in France.Currently, he is Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Lebanese University.

Prof. Amel Hamrouni

She has published in a variety of journals and books, including Qualitative Marketing Research, International Journal of Business and Management, Journal of Management Development. In addition, she is an expert in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the evaluation of quality support programs (PAQ) for the employability of graduates and member of the LMD (Higher Education Reform) committee. She is the co-author of two books on the process of professionalization of higher education in co-built training with companies.

Dr. Hafida Mderssi

Mderssi Hafida is full professor and Coordinator of the sector: ”French Studies and Education“, from the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University Mohammad V of Rabat. She is also Director of the Reception, Information, Orientation and Monitoring Center. In 2003 she obtained the National Doctorate, Specialty in Linguistics (Pragmatics). Since 1985, Prof. Mderssi has been teaching at college, high school, and university.

The Lebanese International University

Four decades ago, we started our endeavor towards planning then building an academic hub in Lebanon, as we felt it is our responsibility to look for our society, namely the most vulnerable areas and provide them with a decent learning experience, as it is the right of every future generation to find its adequate place in an educational, scientific and healthy environment. Therefore, we worked on developing the capacities of our academic staff through activities, training sessions and workshops that contribute to shape their capabilities and help them gain the required confidence.

The organizing committee is planning for a conference rich in learning experiences, growth, and connectivity, which will provide the professional learning needed to help professors, scholars, and researchers excel. We will bring together the best minds in education to provide proven and practical strategies, connect members with both peers and experts to reinvigorate practice. This will be attained through a rich and varied program, including keynote and plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations, as well as interactive workshops related to the conference’s main tracks.
