Former Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Egyptian Technology

Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama is currently the Secretary General of the Union of Arab Universities in addition to being Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hospital 57357.

Dr,Salama served as Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Egyptian Technology in two periods, during which he supported the development and expansion of higher education projects, as well as the promotion of science and technology sectors, and developed new fields such as biotechnology and future sciences. Society and keen to spread the scientific culture in society and promote the general understanding of science and its importance.

He also served as  the Chairman of the Housing Committee of the Egyptian Shura Council. He was elected Chairman of the Administrative Engineering Society and a member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Society of Engineers. He is also a former member of the Supreme Council of Engineers Syndicate.

Dr. Amr Salameh received a Master’s degree from the University of Manchester and a PhD from Harriot Watt University in the United Kingdom and is a Professor of Civil Engineering.

Dr. Amro also served as President of Helwan University and President of the National Center for Housing and Construction Research and made significant progress in the two institutions during his presidency.

Dr. Salameh won the Scientific Creativity Award in 2006 and in 2012 he was awarded the State Award for Engineering Sciences, the Engineering Syndicate Medal and the Egyptian Egyptian Association of Engineers Medal. He received many Egyptian and international accolades.
